These Day Trips are to lesser-known dive locations.
Some of these Tulamben Area dive sites are fantastic areas for macro (muck) diving revealing many small critters in easy-to-photograph environments. The best known is Seraya Slope. At Tulamben Area the sites offer a variety of conditions and types of diving, but our most popular trip is to Seraya Slope for our muck divers and macro photographers.
The ‘in’ location for macro photography.
Five minutes before Tulamben Bay. Seraya’s black sand slope has Boxer crabs (although very difficult to find them out in the open with the goatfish around!), rare nudibranchs and Barrel sponges with crinoids, Stonefish, anglerfish, Ghostpipe fish plus a variety of Cowrie shells. Rhinophias, Tiger & Coleman Shrimp, Painted Frog fish, Chromodorididae, Wonderpus, Harlequin shrimps, seahorses and a school of barracudas. Visibility wise is around 15 to 25 metres and the currents are none or very mild. As for the depth, an average of 20 metres will offer most of the marine species variety in the photographers wishlists.
At Tulamben Area the conditions are predictable and is suitable for every level of certification, even thought is most enjoyed by u/w photographers and critters lovers.
